University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Applied Health Sciences brings state-of-the-art learning to today’s students with Jones & Bartlett Learning and Blackboard
Blackboard and Jones and Bartlett Learning have been collaborating to bring universities and faculty accessible, high-quality digital course resources. In 2009 University of Illinois (UIC) started offering online programs and courses. Today, they offer an on-ground bachelor’s degree in health information management as well as an online post-baccalaureate certificate program. This was made possible through the technology provided by both Blackboard and Jones & Bartlett Learning.
UIC chose Blackboard Learn as their LMS which integrates seamlessly with Jones & Bartlett Learning’s Navigate 2. The learning resources in Navigate 2 such as the eBook assessments, study aids, tests and instructor resources combined with the power of Blackboard Learn, offer students an enriched learning environment enabling online students world-wide the opportunity to attend classes real-time or view them on-demand.
“We wanted to make sure that online and on-campus students were exposed to the same materials, so that they are all learning the same things. With a growing body of online resources available, it just made sense to incorporate them into learning for all students,”
Lois Hitchcock, Health Information Management Professor, University of Illinois at Chicago
