St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, MI recently received a $1.2 million grant from W.K. Kellogg Foundation to aid in launching a comprehensive breastfeeding program. According to The Detroit News,
“money will help start the St. John Mother Nurture Project, a program that will provide health services and community-based programming, such as lactation consultants to counsel mothers in the St. John OB Clinic and a weekly post-delivery breastfeeding support group.”
St. John hopes that the grant will help combat misconceptions about breastfeeding while increasing the practice and maintenance of breastfeeding for members of the community.
Please join us in applauding the launch of St. John’s new breastfeeding program.
