Leadership in Nursing Practice, Third Edition

Earlier this year when we released Leadership in Nursing Practice: Changing the Landscape of Health Care, Third Edition by Daniel Weberg, Kara Mangold, Tim Porter-O'Grady, and Kathy Malloch, we hoped that it would inspire thoughtful leadership. We're so happy to report it's doing just that. In a new review in the September 2018 issue of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) Voice of Nursing Leadership, Cecelia Crawford, DNP, RN, featured the text in the LeaderRead section.

Read an excerpt from the review:

“In this brave and outspoken text, nursing leaders pull back the curtain on areas of leadership not often discussed. Examples include ‘Myths of Teams’ and ‘Alienation Between Colleagues.’

Nurses need time to reflect, think, and contemplate; this made me assess my own work processes. Just because someone is standing still doesn’t mean they are not working—they are just working in their head!”

Leadership in Nursing Practice, Third EditionLeadership in Nursing Practice: Changing the Landscape of Health Care, Third Edition offers nursing students the opportunity to develop the leadership skills they will need to thrive in the field. The Third Edition focuses on current leadership, innovation, and organization theory to prepare students for a transition into leadership positions. Also explored are the topics of time management, finance and fiscal management, communication and negotiation, ethical decision making, and career management.
