    First-Ever Riegelman Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Public Health Education Presented

    On October 27, the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) and the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) co-sponsored the second annual Undergraduate Education for Public Health Summit in San Francisco, CA. Held prior to the American Public Health Association (APHA) annual conference, the summit gathered more than 120 public health educators and professionals to discuss the future of public health education. Workshops explored a wide-variety of public health topics and fostered discussion of undergraduate programs in public health, general education development, and graduate study. Sessions included models of undergraduate education, civic engagement programs for students, curriculum articulation, evaluation and assessment, and recruiting and retaining faculty.

    Over 10,000 public health professionals are attending the American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Expo in San Francisco this week. On the expo floor, Jones & Bartlett Learning displayed over 100 titles for the study and practice of public health. Laurie Davis, Technology Product Manager for JBL Health, gave demonstrations of our newest online courseware, Navigate Public Health 101 and Navigate Epidemiology 101. Navigate Global Health 101 will be released in the spring.
