    How Harvey Mudd College is Closing the Computer Science Gender Gap

    Maria Klawe, President of Harvey Mudd College in Southern California, is working hard to change the stereotypes of Computer Scientists by encouraging and empowering women to believe they can succeed in the field. Since 1995, Klawe has been transforming the student population at Harvey Mudd by making computer science easier to transition into, and by creating classes and assignments that are relatable and fun, and successfully increasing the number of women majoring in computer science to 40%.
